Lexington County is ideally situated in the Columbia metropolitan area of South Carolina. The County has more than 60 miles of interstate highway and three interstate systems connect within its borders – Interstate 20, Interstate 26, and Interstate 77.  One of the fastest growing counties in South Carolina, Lexington County is a leading business and industry location as well as providing residents with an outstanding quality of life including the beautiful Lake Murray country which provides outstanding recreational opportunities and top residential communities.

 

Interstate 26 runs through the northern section of the county from east to west connecting the County with Greenville-Spartanburg, SC and Asheville, NC to the west and Charleston to the west.  Interstate 20 traverses north to south through the County connecting to Augusta and Atlanta to the south and west, and Florence, SC to the east. Interstate 77 connects with Interstate 26 in Lexington County.  Interstate 77 travels to Charlotte 1.5 hours north and into Virginia, West Virginia, and Ohio, terminating in Cleveland.

 

The South Carolina capital city of Columbia is located just north of Lexington County, with a portion of the city actually located within the borders of Lexington County.  The county seat of Lexington is located just minutes south of Columbia.  The County has 15 towns and cities located within its borders.
